Charity Governance Awards


Is a charity you know award-winning? They could win £5K

As you will probably be aware, last year the Company decided to build upon its support of charity governance by organising and funding The Charity Governance Awards. We were delighted with the level and quality of the 100+ entries. Please do visit the website to listen to podcast interviews of the 2016 winners and read about all 18 shortlisted organisations. 

The Company’s Trusteeship Committee felt that the inaugural Awards had gone some way to achieving the objective of helping to raise the profile of good governance; so we have committed to organising the Awards again for 2017.

£5K prize

The free-to-enter Awards are open to all UK-registered charities, and each of the seven categories offers a £5K prize.

Following feedback from the 2016 Awards we have included a new category – Embracing Digital – which aims to showcase organisations that are using digital to help their beneficiaries and/or move the organisation forward. You can see all seven categories and the entry criteria on the website. 

As with last year, Members of the Company will be asked to help with the initial judging process. 

The winners will be announced at an invitation-only drinks reception at the Hall on Wednesday 24th May 2017. 

How to enter

If you know of a charity with a great governance story to tell, please do encourage them to consider entering, at no cost, online. The Awards close for entry at 23:59 on Friday 13th January 2017. 

In addition to the prize money, the 2016 winners really appreciated the accolade of winning:
